Rafting Safety Tips
As with any other sport, adequate
planning and adherence to safety precautions can greatly lessen the risks. Here
are some safety tips to follow:
Do Not Drink
Alcohol can affect your balance, blur your vision and cloud your judgment. Falling off the Raft under the influence of alcohol is definitely something you want to avoid. Staying sober is a must.
Medical Conditions

Medical Conditions
Here are several health risks in
running rapids:
Sometimes, the river may run unusually high. People with heart problems should not take this sport as many suffer from heart attacks.
Hypothermia is also a risk in Whitewater Rafting. Be aware of Hypothermia especially when extreme changes in weather occur; such as the air and water temperature add up to degrees or less.
In more difficult Rapid Classification, Rafting requires strenuous physical exertion, which may lead to falls, injuries, or even death. Meanwhile, risks such as obstacles hidden underwater, changing weather, slippery terrain, unpredictable currents, overturning, collisions with huge rocks, feet and other body parts becoming entrapped in or under rocks and other objects, equipment failure, may all lead to injuries. Wear the right pieces of Rafting Clothing to prevent physical injuries.
To be able to avoid these health risks, be aware of your surroundings and observe the basic safety precautions. Keep your mind and eyes open while engaging in the sport. The risks can be lower when you try to conduct a discussion on the guidelines of a safe River Rafting activity before plunging in action. Be responsible and know your limitations to make sure your White Water Rafting Trip will be an enjoyable and exciting experience to remember.

Capsizing
Capsizing can occur anytime. In
fact, it is almost to be expected in a River Rafting Trip. When it happens, the only thing you need
to do is to re-right the Raft. Whatever technique you employ in flipping it,
just make sure to keep your safety in check at all times. Drills prior to
conquering the rapids are therefore imperative so you will know what to do when
the Raft turtles. Keep these guidelines in mind and be a great help in
re-righting a capsized Raft.
Risks come with the fun and
excitement when conquering the rapids. Take the necessary precautions to lessen
the chances of having to deal with unwanted situations. Be fully-equipped and
have a safe Rafting adventure.
Make safety your top priority.
Understanding the dangers involved in running rapids is one step in ensuring
your safety. Take the necessary precautions before heading out.
